Blanket Ministry

Categories: Announcements

Two weeks ago, Fr. Karl blessed the first ten blankets for our newly formed Blanket Ministry. Since that time, we have given away seven of those blankets to parishioners who are going through a difficult time, whether it be an illness, a shut-in, or someone who may be grieving.

These blankets are either sewn, quilted, knitted, crocheted or fleece-tied by volunteers who pray while making the blanket. Once completed, a card is attached to the blanket and then blessed by Fr. Karl. The blessed blankets are presented to the recipient(s), letting them know that they remain in our thoughts and prayers even if they cannot be with us at Mass. We are now seeking volunteers to use their time, talent and material to help replenish our supply of blankets. Some material has recently been donated to the ministry for those who can sew or quilt. For those who knit or crochet, there are patterns available for prayer shawls.

Thank you for considering this rewarding ministry and please feel free to email Bernice at with any questions you may have.
